best bike for getting into vinduro

i would like to know what is the best bike for starting out in vinduros
four stroke or 2 stroke
big bore 250 or 175
i an a slow rider just out to have fun just like i do on dirt track

the best bike is the one you can lay your hands on that'll start n go...
i rode my RT1 yammie in a Vinduro a few years back...
a big fat heavy slow old pig of a thing and i had a ball...
2 stroke anything i reckon...

The KDX200 and IT200 are great. If you're not planning on going to Victoria, I reckon an 86-88 KDX200 would probably be the best choice.
If you need the bike to be Pre-85, then the KDX250 is the bike to have, IMHO.

But like everything related to old bikes, the bike you love is the one to be on.

Really Nathan? Not heaps of KDX 250's around and certainly not lots of parts available. Forks and brakes aren't a patch on an IT200. Can rebore the Yam. I reckon IT200 by a mile. Any model is fine for vic enduros, even the disc brake ones.

I don't think a 1954 hs500 ariel would be a good vinduro bike and yes they will here me.

Mustanggraham says disc brake model ITs are fine in Victoria , I thought they were 86 model, does this mean vinduros in Victoria are a bit more relaxed when it comes to eligibility or is it a carry over model

1983   kdx250 putts around nicely then  plenty of juice when you want it ,comfy suspension (really means on the soft side) ,handles good for a green bike , easy to start, hyflight USA  ball saver seat , just happen to have one coming up for sale /trade soon  bit rough around the edges but will not break the bank @1500

I've tried to sell an awesome 83 KDX250 for a couple of years now and not been able to get any interest.  It is one of the nicest Vinduro/VMX all-rounder bikes I've ridden.

My current Vinduro bike is an 85 or 86 IT200 .. fast through the bush, easy to live with, parts are plentiful and it's just a great bike to ride.
