Wheel bearing removal - TM250.
« on: July 04, 2008, 11:39:04 am »
Whats the trick? I have removed plenty of wheel bearings in the past by reaching through with a long drift, picking up the edge of the bearings and tapping it out working around the edge of the bearing. With the TM I can't tilt the centre spacer enough to pick up the edge of the bearing, neither side. Whats the trick?

Buy a split collet remover and you will never look back . Or remove bearing cage and make up a bearing puller that fits into the race ( shaped like a " T " ) easy to make out of an old bolt and 5 minute's on the grinder .

Get an m6 dyna bolt flatten the expanded end so it is same thickness as race , then file away as in pic making sure you round the ends so as to be a snug fit - make your self up some sort of slide hammer . The collet puller .... fits inside the bearing catching on the bevel - 2 hits with the slide hammer and out they come
