The Blackwood 'Tough One'! Yep, it was, but not silly tough, just challenging and with a great variety of terrain, extending the very casual riders comfort zone and still giving the more 'accomplished' types a vibrant ride. There were a few 'pucker' points interspersed with flowing trails to give riders a chance to breathe again before the next gnarly bit. As described by a period enduro competitor the course and obstacles were very much like a 70's enduro - the distance travelled (50kms) just a little shorter! All participants should consider themselves blessed with the weather too - any more moisture would have made the course un-navigable, even for sweeps riding moderns! See, VERi tries very hard to give memorable, and in hindsight, fun events.
Thanks to all the riders who attended and to the organisers and various volunteer helpers, without whom nothing would get done.
Now its time to get geared up for our next events;
STRATFORD 5/10/2014 This event has both a closed loop for unregistered bikes and also a Red Plate loop.
BEAUFORT 8-9/11/2014 Red Plate event. This ought to be a corker!
Keep an eye on here, Facebook and the VERi website for updates.
