Agnes Water, Qld.
« on: May 08, 2014, 08:32:11 pm »
OK, I know this is a long shot but is anyone anywhere near Agnes Water in Qld, or know of a freight company that might be able to bring a bike back to Sydney/Wollongong for me? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Pete.

If someone can get it to CD for you Pete, I can bring it home from there.
And more than happy to meet you in Sydney somewhere during the following week.

My bro goes up there every now and then, I'll ask when. There was a nice TT/XT for sale up there a while back.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks again.

Sitting in Brisbane airport waiting to get a flight back to Sydney after having just dropped my recently purchased Pursang at Fergusson's transport in Beenleigh. Quite an ordeal - flew back into Sydney from working in Thailand yesterday morning. Caught a flight to Brisbane, arrived at midday and then hired a Commodore wagon and drove 6 hours up to Agnes Water, stopping at Maryborough Supercheap to pick up some tools. Got to the guys place, pulled the bike to bits, put it in the back of the wagon and drove 3 hours back to Maryborough, getting there at 10 o'clock last night. Getting pretty tired by this time, particularly as I flew overnight from Bangkok, so booked into a flea bag motel to get a few hours kip. Got up at 2:30am and drove 3.5 hours down to Beenleigh, where I put the bike back together at the transport guys house. Then drove back to the airport and here I am, thoroughly pissed off. Madness doing this, but I only bought this bike because I had an offer from a forum member to pick it up for me and get it back south close to Brisbane. Well that didn't happen and here I am. The good news is the bike, although rough, is quite original and will be a nice addition to the stable.

Pete, Pete, Pete, the things we do for our young hey mate.
I was looking forward to getting that Bully from CD and bringing to your joint and picking up that gearbox at the same time.
On a brighter note, did it turn out to be the big bore you were hoping for?

Nice place Agnus Waters. Traveled on a new DR500 for seven months, camped up on the head land above the town of 1770 for a couple of weeks. What a time. Had been working out west in the mines, loaded with cash, great times.
Those two weeks are certainly contenders for two of the best weeks ever ::) 8)

Hi Mick,
Gotta look after the kids. ;D
The bike is only a 250, but painted in the 360 colours. No problem though, as the 250 MK8 can be ridden in pre 75 by just changing the swingarm over, or that's what I'm led to believe.
Your gearbox is safe, we just have to work out how to get it to you.
Didn't get a chance to see Agnes Water as I was only there for an hour.
Cheers,
Pete.

Hey the Mk8 is an awesome machine. And your right about changing the swinging arm and your in 8)

Arms come up on US FeeBay, or even better if some one would loan you a MK7 arm to copy an amendment from?

I wish some one would lend me a 74 CZ arm to copy from ::)

Yeah Mick, they're a great model.
This is from your link:

It's a MK VII and cheap enough. I'll see if he'll split it up,
Cheers.
