These days I race 'cause I want to be first ito turn one, and I want to stay on the bike for the rest of the day. If niether happens I know I'll have a good day anyhow mixing with blokes I've known for years and some new friends I have met there and or will meet.
 cheers pancho.

why not race

Genetic I rekon.
I reckon you are on to the answer right there Mike ;)
Evolution is driven by competition.
In time, it is good genetics that win out in the competition to survive, shit genetics don't win out.
We wouldn't be here, if we weren't geared this way.

I am sure that I am not the only one who thinks "I will take it easy",,,work, commitments, responsibilities,, etc, etc.
But when that five second sign falls,,, its all bets of,,,,and I'm gunna pin it and ring its neck.

My racing experience is still close to the beginning(I hope :D ).  8)
I am just starting to learn the value of preparation and strategy, A long way to go, and a lot to learn.

These days I race 'cause I want to be first ito turn one,

Yes, just realising how much that means Pancho 8)

lets face it, just about all of us here wont be mixing it with Chad Reid, in international "A" grade  ::)
Nor would the vast majority of us be able to justify or find the necessary budget.

I often think how glad I am that there are so many healthy clubs in Oz, covering just about every
discipline except Ice racing,,,and I would rather you tube that one thanks ::)

Plus genetics's  got to be involved. Dad was a pioneering petrol head maniac on a motorcycle from reports, raced a ccouple of cars,my late brother Kerry made quite a name for himself in Tassie and Q'land racing cars, his three sons into drag racing cars etc and I met a cousin in Vic same age as me, same great grandfather, same sir name still racing a dirt outfit at last report!
We must be all having fun!

why would ya climb up on the roof at midnight to adjust the tv aerial when you are blind drunk?
cause it makes a lot more sense than climbing a mountain.
Why would you agree and promise to practically anything, just to be in charge of the pussy for ten minutes?
cause it always seems like a good idea at the time.
why would you still load your bike and gear up when its still pissing down and you know its gunna be a mudbath?
cause its still a lot more fun then Michael Jackson ever had, even with all his monkeys.
why would you bust your ass trying to get to the front when 9/10ths of the fun is dueling with old mate next to you?
cause no one likes coming second and you cant do it when your time comes to be sitting at the done ridding table talking shit.
Mick you have become the wises Man in VMX land ..
and Yes I will buy you a beer for this great Truth .....

I am copying this and its going in The Man Cave ...
