Good article.

Everyone says that you only really become an adult once you have kids.
I reckon that racing* on your own time and your own money is also an important part of becoming a better person.

* or any other sport that requires the same amount of focus (both during the act and beforehand) - so basically just racing... :)

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

why would ya climb up on the roof at midnight to adjust the tv aerial when you are blind drunk?
cause it makes a lot more sense than climbing a mountain.
Why would you agree and promise to practically anything, just to be in charge of the pussy for ten minutes?
cause it always seems like a good idea at the time.
why would you still load your bike and gear up when its still pissing down and you know its gunna be a mudbath?
cause its still a lot more fun then Michael Jackson ever had, even with all his monkeys.
why would you bust your ass trying to get to the front when 9/10ths of the fun is dueling with old mate next to you?
cause no one likes coming second and you cant do it when your time comes to be sitting at the done ridding table talking shit.
"light weight, and it works great"  :)

On the other hand.........  8)

I worked out some years ago that I only ever raced if I felt I would get some sense of achievement out of it.

Maybe I missed out because I never raced just for the fun of it, but that's just how I am.  :(
