Broadford Bonanza
« on: January 21, 2014, 07:47:47 pm »

There doesn't seem to be a lot of talk about this event, never been to it.
Is it worth while to travel  from Sydney as a spectator for the weekend ?

I'm heading down for the first time this year as well, the attraction for me over the CD events is the Speedway & Dirttrack part.
Can't wait.

It is fantastic. Not just the dirt bikes,......you have to see the road race part as well. The amount of rare and wonderful
machinery is amazing. When you see Kenny and Barry Horner's Vincents you will know what I mean. Not to mention
some amazing speedway/dirttrack  hardware eg. 880 JAP, supergharged Vincents,Rotrax JAP, etc. etc.
One tip,....take a shoulder bag for carrying stuff like a camera, notepad, food and drink. The place is big. Also use the
transport provided and tip the driver(local C.F.A.) See ya there!

We wouldn't miss it. The dirt track is the big attraction to my mates and I. While we love the Classic Dirt concept and would never miss it, the HBBB gives us a chance to use our dirt track tackle.
We're taking some good gear this year, all the big 750's and short track framers we can muster plus some very rare speedway stuff. And lets not forget the launch of Roger Harvey's latest book on the Sunrasia Desert rally. There's some serious partying as well, probably not as intense at Classic Dirt but not too shabby just the same ;).
