Merlot's a very metrosexual wine choice Mick...I always had you figured for  a flagon port kind of bloke ::).  How'd you go with that silver metalflake Trackmaster tank Jimmy took up to you Mick? Is it a suitable mould candidate without flucking up it's nice gelcoat ?
as long as it's red Firko,bottle size/shape dosen't factor in ;),already done a tank top from mold,(metalflakes safe!!)
Alisdair,is that "caliper black" paint on the outer cases,looks good 8), :P
work,the curse of the racing class!!
if a hammer dosn't fix it,you have a electrical problem!!

It is some sort of high temp paint, cannot remember what it is called, label was unreadable.
I sandblasted the cases, then baked the paint on, hopefully it stays on for a while....

And top tank from mold?

Finally got spark, Coil was buggered.

Only a few things to sort out,

Airbox->Carb boot
Have a EI/Lectron carb on it, air intake side is massive, roughly put on with some dodgy hoses.


Expansion chamber has a bunch of holes in it. Metal is really thin, I think it will be constantly being welded. Any suggestions what is best to paint/coat it with?


Seat base is really rusty, going to re weld it and fiberglass where the foam goes to strengthen it up



Put that Caswell Fuel tank repair kit through the tank, happy with how it turned out. Took a while tapping threads though, didn't put the bolt in far enough....


Will paint the fuel tank sometime in the future.


Currently trying to get my IT465H reliable, previous owner **cked around with it. Rear rim is rooted, every spoke is loose, and I have soaked them in CRC for weeks, only other option I can think of is adding heat to them, however the rim is a 19inch, I want 18.  Thought that a YZ465G rear rim would fit, axle is smaller and brakes are slightly bigger.......

Hey Alasdair, what is the thread size and pitch of the fuel tap / bolt into the f/glass tank?
I have acquired a Bandido to tidy up.

Nice job you are doing as well, one day when I crack the code I'll have to post my pictures.

I am pretty sure the fuel tap was 12mm with 1.5 pitch. would definitely double check before you do anything :)

Waiting for my father to weld up the expansion chamber before I continue with the Bultaco. Also need to figure out how I am going to make the airbox boot.

Annoying that little things are slowing me down

Air box boot can be purchased on EBay from overseas, a little pricey though, but that's life.
I will be purchasing one myself soon enough. ..LYLE

Yeah fuel taps, they are tapered as well will test a few bolts before I go to the bolt shop.

Air filter boots, they are a problem as well. I have l looked at some silicone hoses at Supercheap, but bought nothing.
We use DEKTITES ,for sealing penetrations of conduits and pipes through metal roofs, you can buy them from plumbers suppliers or even Bunnings.Might be the go.

Anyone tried INMOTION in the UK for air filter hoses etc.Starting to see complaints about Frankie Mountain parts on Delphi Bultaco forum.

I have the original boot, only problem being it isn't large enough for the carb, it fits perfectly in the inside of the carb though.

Thinking of making a small adapter that bolts to the airbox, and allows for a larger hose to go on. (If that makes sense)

Frankiemountain? And what kind of complaints are out there?

I think it applies mostly to replica exhausts, all his gear is quite pricey and returns would be near impossible. Me thinks he's getting a lot of his stuff made in China.

Probably safer buying from US ebay, Hugh's or Mobley.

My Montadero Amal carby has an alloy adapter araldited to the external intake side to suit the hose. Looks original so your solution should work.Look at the DEKTITES they can be trimmed down to suit.
