Yes that is a neat build, well done.
Is that pipe an original S pipe, a direct copy, or something else again?
I’m told that the S model had a cone style pipe and I have a customer who is also doing up an S and wants an original looking pipe for it so I am curious as to what the original pipe actually looks like.

I will post up some pics of an original S pipe Geoff . The original has a stamped header pipe then goes into 4 of 5 large cones with a long stinger and stamped small muffler .

Petes pipe is the best S pipe i have ever seen , its similar to the original yet way more factory looking ( if that makes sense )

If somones making Pete replicas put me down for 3  ;D

Some photo's would be good thanks Bill.
I supposedly have an S pipe coming in next year to be replicated, not sure how I will do the pressed header section if that's the case.

PS Not meaning to hijack here but did you say you have a 74 KX 125 Bill?
I need the dimensions for the muffler hanger bracket if you can

Geoff
The pipe I made myself mainly because original pipes are harder to find than rocking horse poop and there were no after market pipes that looked anything like the original. It's all in the angles..
My prerequisits with a pipe were for it to look similar to an original especially where it comes out from under the bike through up to the silencer. I wanted the stinger effect with the 22mm stinger pipe and just as important the upsweep angle of where the pipe finishes. Most aftermarkets finish too low and look more like the old CR low pipes. The silencer should finish up near the top of the rear tyre and vertically in line with the rear axle, in my view.
Even that pipe on the DMC (Dave Miller Concepts) RM125M is too low at the silencer, but that said, that pipe is a work of art and very well made... gives me a hard on every time I see it.
Geoff, I have a few dimensions (lengths, diameters etc) I scribbled down of an original I used as a giud when making mine, you can have a copy if you want. PM me if you're interested as having a more original looking M/S pipe available to your customers would be good for you.
Pete

Geoff I will send you a S pipe so you can copy.
The DMC Pipe is based on the TS125 Race Kit pipe which is slightly lower than the RM M or S pipe.

That does look to be a good pipe you built Pete, you should be proud of your work.

Geoff I will send you a S pipe so you can copy.

Thanks Graham, no hurry at the moment as it will be a 2014 job as will the KX.
There is a chance I might pay you a visit in mid Dec. I will just have to see how things pan out.

It can be frustrating sometimes as some guys are chasing performance while others are chasing originality, and it can be hard to justify setting up for 2 different pipes for the same model of which there aren't that many people chasing them.

GMC Geoff, I seem to think some years back I    may     have left a stock 125S at your workshop for ya to indulge in. It was not complete , missing all the stinger and muffing bit,  then again maybe I am totally mistaken. Cheers Tim754
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Yes Tim it's still here hanging on my shed wall, it helps make me look busy. ;D
It's not an S pipe though it's a TM pipe with a dodgy way longer header attached.

I built the pipe myself because I could't source an original or a good looking after-market.
I believe GMC may be looking at adding original looking 1975 RM pipes to his list, perhaps may be worth contacting him.
