Nice bike but.....You may get into Evo but I think the modern frame and forks puts you in with the moderns. I've never quite understood the thinking behind using a vintage engine in a modern frame, I'm sure it fits into an American short track class but I doubt it's vintage legal there too. I suspect it hasn't been raced for a while as they haven't made Goodyear dirt track tyres for a number of years. I've got one here and it's rock hard.

UPDATE:
According to the radio a few minutes ago there's a very heavy storm warning for the Hawkesbury area this evening.....meaning that Nepean Raceway will no doubt cop it big time sometime soon. If the track cops too much water the meeting might be under a cloud...pardon the pun ::).

It depends on what you think is old school Graeme....the TT500 engine is for sure but the CCM mono frame is definitely new school.

Mark I was thinking the power unit is the key in Dirttrack over the chassis
Especially the way I suggested in those early posts
Once we get support then we can make things cleaner.
right now I would be happy to see 2 classes

I see your point Graeme but you'd be up shit creek according to MoMs if you wanted to race this bike in vintage here in Oz and even in the USA where you'd need a traditional style twin shock frame. The CCM frame misses all the cut offs for the various divisions in our rules but it'd be fine for modern.....which is a shame because of the vintage TT500 engine. If you wanted to ride in modern why not have the best technology by using a YZ450F motor or even a Rotax. And that's not mentioning the need for a front brake here.

Yeah, I realise that you can still get that tread pattern in Dunlop and even Maxxis and Golden Tyre....my point is the age of the Goodyear tyres on that bike indicating its possible lack of use for a few years.

MoMs occasionally can't see the Forrest for the trees.
That said it is difficult to get it right even if you write your own rules.
Who would be a Commissioner??
