360cc disc valve

Any details yet Lozza? Not being a smart arse but but why 360cc? is it a Class limit? is it an ideal bore/stroke ratio? there must be a reason for the size. Does it run a power valve. You've got me intrigued.

I think about my TS90MX with the rotary valve motor, even with 15-16hp it was still very flexible and would potter along happily just above idle. For a 90cc motor it was remarkably flexible. And that was before they thought of power valves.

I dunno Brent, that's just what the bloke(who is making the engine) wanted, meant to compete with 450F's. Think its about 77 X 77mm, can have a PV but probably won't need that as variable disc timing is planned. Correct Brent disc valves are superior

Variable disc timing, that sounds interesting. I've read the power valves knock pistons and rings around, if it's right then that's a bonus plus the disc valve set up gives a lot more room for more transfer ports. The Ts90MX has more transfer area than the TM125

If someone wanted to make a bike here in Australia then maybe a Adventure Bike would be the way to go.
A simple little thing that the owner could work on out in the Simpson.

A bike with NO
Watercooling
ABS /ABN /traction control
Actually no tricky electronics would be the go.
A bike that uses rider input to do the job.
A bike where you could get the bad fuel out in a couple of minutes instead of hours.
Fit a single cable slide carb instead of a vacuum controlled thing.
A bike where you could change the headlight bulb in 5 mins instead of 1 hr.
If you left all the tricky bullshit off it I'll bet you could make it cheap as well as reliable.

Can you make it cheaper and more reliable and with better spares support than an XR400/600?
If not, why would anyone buy the new Aussie made bike over an old XR?

Hasn't Paul Rooney been making bikes like this for years ? Although not totally Australian made, as he uses BMW motors, WP forks and usually Ohlins rear suspension. But he makes his own lightweight frames and sells completed adventure bikes to people all over the world. Just a one man operation, where he builds the bikes in a workshop under his house.
