nada i have been doing vmx since about 1989 and came to look at Dargyl in 91. I would never miss a vmx meeting for anything and have done all 9 C/Dirts. However as the body slows down and modern 4 strokes let you trail ride as you get older like you said this becomes an option and probably 10% of vmx riders are going that way you are going. I can now miss meetings and probably have missed my last classic dirt.
Bazza, i'm 33, fit and healthy, i have no reason to quit:) other than politics, my mates are not interested in old bikes (bit silly riding in the bush on your own) and cost!
Major factors are! I'm no mechanic, i can do the basics ok, but i have to pay, to have the hard stuff done (Thanks to Lozza, I am better than I was Ps: i haven't forgotten Loz) and Politics! It's not going in the direction i need it to, so im going in the direction which suites my pocket and my mates:)
So, maybe in the not so distant future, i'll purchase a WHITEY special and come back, but until then, sorry i'm over it!
Happy Days, and stay upright
