I am fortunate to have been given a BHP education. Nothing was more important than safety.
As a young apprentice, them real to real horror injury movies were actually the first horror movies I ever saw.

I haven't forgotten them.

Although I did a full lock to lock tank slapper at 100 and 70 K's once in a setting sun. I spotted an object in the road in the last micro second. I was very fit and strong way back then and I squeezed on to the grips for all hell.
My hands went with the bars as it smacked, smacked, smaked form lock to locks.

Every time I pick up a Nine inch A/G with slitting intention, I plan my cut in steps and think of that incident and prepare myself right before I squeeze my grip on it, like I did that 750 Yammie.  every time

9 inch angle grinders are banned for good reason in most industrial workplaces for good reason. It worries me that people on this forum still use them knowing full well the risks  :(  Why take the chance?  Racing old dirt bikes exposes us to enough risks without adding to it in the workplace or around the shed  :-\ We can't live in cotton wool but some things we might do are just dumb sometimes  ::)

Spose I 'd better whack my (5"grinder/thin blade) juggling result in here  :)
Tickled the femoral artery a bit ,which sprung a leak when the nurse in emergency started pokin around in the hole, which caused a bit of stife for a while  :-\

They patched it up OK but it looks a bit like a bloody Suzuki emblem :(

Exactly. Unless you know how they work/cut stay away from them.

This is what a wafer disc did to me recently, been using them for years just made a silly mistake, had some ligaments strung back together. Luckily it all seems to work ok so far, worst part was I missed two club days  racing.

hell you guys live dangerously, i'll loose sleep tonight after looking at those pics--those pics should come in the manual of every one of those sold by the sounds of it. [feel for you guys]. Been complaining [to my self] for 20 years that my old 115mm black & decker slide switch has to be held on [forward] to keep going. Complain 'no more'. Just remembering back to our lathe at work, had a few scares [well lots really] doing things we shouldn't so the boss went out & bought a foot control which was a good thing.

Mick I took it off the 4 inch grinder to do a job a while back and hadn't got around to replacing it.

                 BUT  IT'S  DONE NOW.

Good work ;)

I built a bull bar racks and under boxes for this trucky once.
One Under-box didn't quite fit, He grabbed his own 4" black and decker, NO GUARD,,,,,,,,
I said, "Thats really dangerous mate, at least move your head out of the line of fire",,,,,,
           he laughed at me ;D

The thing jammed, it was one of the thicker grinding discs. We were at the back of my property,
but we heard nearlyistantly a loud bang of a major fragment striking the tin roof across the front road.

Edge surface speed, EIGHTY METERS IN/PER ONE SECOND,, WHAT A CENTRIFUGAL DEPARTURE
