Well in that case why not a water cooled 500 Maico engine with a Zabel or MTH big kit? The Maico engine would be one of the mechanically strongest and gruntiest of the 80's 500's which I'd assume would be just what a sidecar needs.
My fluck up....the '84 Maico is air cooled. Basically the same engine though. Forget the water cooled MTH or Zabel top ends and keep it stock, they're worldbeaters in stock trim. Suzuki water bottle would be a good choice of engine too.
