I've got YSS on a couple of my bikes and don't have any problem with them other than one set that currently leak and will have to eventually go back to Walter.
This little sentence earned me a nasty PM from Walter. Oh dear ::).

Ok fair enough I'll delete my comment but I have also been a recipient of his nasty PM's in the past

I don't want to turn this in to a YSS or Walter bashing thread, OK fellas? There's too much negativity in the air as it is so lets get back on topic. Having said that, I was and still am a bit pissed that Walter picked one small part of my statement to warrant a stroppy PM. I'll repeat for Walter and anyone else what I wrote...."I've got YSS on a couple of my bikes and don't have any problem with them other than one set that currently leak". I didn't lay shit, merely stated a fact, they do leak and I'm also aware that they're an early cheap version and that the upgraded version doesn't leak.  The only reason I haven't sent them back to Walt for a service is that they're on a bike that's not currently in use, no other reason.

If I got a snarky email from parts manufacturers every time I told a truth about their product I'd have a pretty full inbox ::). Lighten up and work harder to be nice to people on here and elsewhere Walt and you might sell more shocks to the vintage population.

No problem Walter, just don't jump in so fast next time.
Speaking of leaking shocks, I've just been out in the shed fitting a set of Works shocks to my DT1 rat bike. I rebuilt them about three years ago and put them back in the cupboard until I was ready to use them. Well, after some minor modification to the mounts and a lot of grunting and groaning, I got 'em on only to find that there is SFA dampening in both of them. They worked fine when I built them so I didn't bother removing the springs again to check them this time around. I'll now go back out and take 'em back off and find out what went wrong :(. I've built a number of sets of Works shocks and have never had a fluck up before.

In the meantime I'll fit the Arnaco's that previously lived on my Cheney or a nice set of Curnutts I have in the shock stash. I guess either of those will fit the early 70's vibe I'm trying to achieve with the bike better anbyway. I especially like Arnacos for their 10 click external dampening adjustment that actually works. They were 20 years ahead of their time.

I have used Gazi on pre78 Rm125 and 250 with out a problem, they are great in every aspect, I now have Gazi on the Pre68 MX Sidecar and they are doing a great job even against the real expensive brands ;) only 1 small prolem when pounding the shit out of them use nylon inserts and I mean pounding the F@^% ing shysen doing what you would think could not be done ;)
