Physically yes but the stroke is different so you have to change cranks to .

I don't know about the later models 1980 on but the earlier ones don't fit no.

The 175 is a nice motor.  I race mine in the evo 250 class, lots of fun and no real scare factor if you're a gumby

Been there done that (PE175 in RM chassis). Nice bike for playing but a standard RM125 is a better race bike. Same goes for KDX175 into KX.

Yeah, but using the bigger motor means you're up in the 250 class. So if you're looking for a 250 class ride rather than a 125, the 175 is a good option if you can't use all the power a 250 puts out.

Yep, should have suck with the short answer, but went the long way to end up with a slim PE175 rather than a big bore RM125.
