up to 1983 was the twin air box set up
they didnt make one for 84/85
that year model was a replica of the works RN suzuki
the frame is diff you wont fit a earlier twin air on the 84
standard box is perfect just cut the holes out and put wire on them same
as works bike ;)

Just wanted to let you guys know that we are working on a replica Twin Airbox Assembly. It will fit the 81-83 RM 125, 250, 465 and 83-85 500 models. Will be a complete bolt on assembly. Pricing has yet to be determined. We should have it ready within a month.

Boy times must be tough if you haven't any left :D
There would be quite a lot of work in making them up.
Inner and outer covers,filter's,cage,intake boot, mounting brackets,etc ::)
Maybe I should start liquidating my stock pile :D

Yes, it has been quite the project. However, the finished product should be outstanding.

I was told that they originally sold 10,000 of the complete assemblies.

Ok I maybe captain obvious but why are they sort after. I know they look trick. But is there a performace advantage as well?
Did twin air only make suzuki airboxs? Surely the standard suzi item is not that bad

Yes there was a decent performance increase, the std double airbox was restrictive and the single sided Twinair let them breathe a lot better.
