« on: February 28, 2013, 01:35:42 pm »
Looking for any leads...My 1974 CAN-AM 250 TNT was stolen 5 days ago from home shed.
Was race prepped 27M. with enduro gear removed. last competed in QlD classic titiles Harrisville 2012.

Distinctive features: 1. non original chain guide(home made) ,  2.small tear in side of seat (repaired heat weld) 3. Fork brace, original trellebourg front knobby (only because rim lock is seized) 4. new progessive rear shocks 5. Steering head bearings are RS 6. MX3  orange foot pegs 7. all new plastics with decal kit 8.tank mounting bracket  non original 9. oil injector in place. 10.  New feul petcock
this is the obvious stuff, but there are other indicators.....

Can anyone help with advice regarding  recovery ?  More than happy  to offer a reward
thanks for looking   :'(

The fact it's a 74 Can Am is enough of a distinctive feature. I will have my eyes peeled.

That's flirtation for young, Rookie!  :D

I'd imagine they have no idea what they stole.
A 2010 CR250 would be way easier to hide.
Hopefully the stinkin' bastards work out what they've got and realise they can't do much with it.  >:(

I doubt it tony, wouldn't a "2010" CR250 be the only one of its kind in the world!  :D ;)

Mitcho,
Any word on the missing Can Am? Has the bike or the thieves been found?

I know it's shutting the gate after the horse has bolted but it's always a good idea to remove the front wheel from the bike and keep the wheel in one place and the axle in another....both away from the bike.

Living in Alice Springs i always removed the back wheel after rides and stashed the axles in a safe place, that way the theives had to carry the bikes out...never easy to lift a 400 or 250... suprising i never had an incident in the 10 years i was there,,,touch wood it never happens...good luck mitcho will keep an eye out up the sunny coast.
