Honda XL 23" Wheel Conversion to 21"

I'd like to change a Honda XL 23" front wheel to 21".
Has anyone done this conversion and would I be lucky enough for there to be a wheel that's a straight swap?

Simplest way for me was to whack a set of CR 250 / XL/ MT Forks & 21'' wheel in Tony, Same size tubes,with the springs
 from the 500 forks,  Couple of bolts an a cable,  About a 1/2 Dozen stubbie  job

More like a 'dozen stubbie job' for me......... not cos I work slow, but cos I drink fast.......  

Here's the deal, I've got an XL250 Motosport with an XL250S front end.
I don't mind the idea of keeping the leading axle forks and was hoping a 21" wheel of some sort might fit.

Thats said, if anyone's got an MT/CR/XL complete front end in good shape to sell, I might be interested.  

Basically, whatever solution comes up first, I'll go with.

Surely the same hub was used on other bikes, isn't there a site where you can cross reference part numbers from model to model?
Measuring job time in Stubbies takes me back to dad & his mates measuring the distance to tracks in how many cans could be consumed.

That's ok, a mint wheel would look seriously out of place on this bike.....

That would be a bloody handy resource if it exists, Mr. Rulz. 
I was kinda hoping the '82 XL250 front wheel may fit, but the lug on the fork that locates in the backing plate is horizontal on the XL250S.
No idea if that's a problem or not.

So..... based on that info, what I should try and get is a CR125RA/RB or CR250RZ/RA front wheel and use the XL250S backing plate so the lug on the fork lines up etc......... I think..........       

Either that or just get the proper forks and front wheel.......

That helps me too SMed, as i am looking to replace the 23 on my RZ. I knew there were some XR that would fit it, but was not sure.
