The Heaven VMX Club are very pleased to announce a special Pre65 series within our normal VMX series for 2013
This class has been struggling over the last few years in NSW with only one nomination at the CRC in 2012 and only a couple in 2011. We know the bikes are out there, the owners are still keen from all reports. Therefore the problem must be the product we are offering. To try and encourage the re-emergence of the Pre65 class we have decided to offer a special series within our normal program.
Basically to steal a line from the movie Field of Dreams “build it and they will come” .
There will be a 3 round Pre65 series run concurrently with our normal meetings.
These will be at
Rd3 - Bulahdelah MX track - 15/16 June
Rd5 CRC – Bulahdelah Grass Track - 24/25 Aug
Rd6 Canowindra Cup grass track - 5/6 Oct
We have chosen those meetings as the tracks are most suitable for the bikes. This means that the commitment for the owners is very focused which fits with the nature and cost of keeping these valuable bikes on the track
Any rider that enters and rides a Pre65 machine in these meetings will be offered free entry even if they ride other machines. Riders will still have to pay for their One Event Lic if they need one.
The sight and sound of these bikes is something that is missing from our club at present. We are really looking forward to hearing Pre65 machines thundering around Canowindra showground
.
We are serious about getting this class back to a sustainable level. We hope by strengthening the roots of VMX with Pre65 that this will flow on to a stronger Pre70 and Pre75 etc
The Canowindra event is the long weekend and that was pointed out clashes with the National Dirt Track meeting although there is little we can do about the availablity of Canowindra Showground but we are looking at it.
Lets get those Pre65s fettled for some track time
