I don't get it. If it's the genuine Glen Bell Marlborough bike it can't be brand new. If it's a brand new Yamaha 250T it can't be the Bell bike. The builder has produced a nice 'tribute bike' but going by the eBay speil it's not the real deal so shouldn't be priced like it is.

So is it the very bike Belly rode or is it a replica of that bike? If it's a replica, the seller appears to be misrepresenting what he's selling, alluding that it's the bike Bell rode in '87. 

That's what I said in 2009 and I still think the same. In my opinion the listing's deliberately designed to make you think this is the real bike. Where's the original bike these days?

None of the Marlboro Yamaha's getting around now are the real deal, they're all mock ups. This appears to be  the bike Geoff Holmes built a few years ago with a few leftover parts Belly gave him.

It doesn't read to me that it was a bike that Bell rode. The listing states that the bike is brand new and "built to the specs of Glen Bells bike".

I thought being "brand new" would have been a give away to that fact.

I still think its worth the asking price.....

First line, "restored", second line, "as brand new". If you read it correctly the owner clearly states it is NOT NEW ! Regardsless of its originality its cool to see people still restoring bikes to look like the bikes from the particular period which is important to them.

My faded memory of this stuff was once there was allot this stuff being given away. The paint fell off very easy and had to be changed constantly so there was plenty of slightly used stuff.
Dealers could acquire the bikes at the end of the year.  I can remember unpacking creates with ex Team Yamaha bikes and it came with allot of plastics. That bike is missing the Olhins shock but appears to have the forks or an aftermarket set.

Is this a true works bike?  Did Glen bell have works bikes like the ones in the USA?

Well one thing's for sure, who ever bought it would need to replace the ripped carb cap!

Right from the gitgo the seller is describing it as "A 1987 Marlboro Yamaha YZ250T". It's not.
"Everything has been restored to the exact specs as Glen Bell rode in the 1987 mister motorcross, From sponsors even down to the Recaro seat" That sentence alone to me is designed to make you think that Glenn Bell rode this bike, the only missing word being 'it' between 'rode' and 'in'. "This Bike was restored by some of the most respected people in the industry" if it was 'brand new and has not been ridden' it wouldn't have needed to be restored. What's happened is that he's sprayed a lot of fluro orange, stuck on some Marlborough graphics and got Belly to sign the rear guard.
