I think some bikes were overvalued and local markets plundered by those importing container loads from the states.

Sounds like a real pile, better sell it to me  ;D

A few years ago you could have made a case that hoarding bikes was making less bikes available to the VMX scene and driving up prices, but with the market having heaps of imports in it, the VMX scene has more bikes than riders these days, evidenced by softening prices that will probably never return. So I would say hoard em unless you need the money.

for me   keepers = bikes that I am never likely to find at a price I can afford again
