I rode the otways enduro in 84 on a husky aircooled 240...the magnets left the flywheel and I was towed out by a bloke on a dr 500...that was fun. it was as slippery as Harrow

Now that is nice to here that a forum member has ridden the otways, with a good team and the town people behind it , Gellibrand would be the ideal spot to run a vintage enduro, it has everything there, its close from melbourne CBD. Picture place, The towns people would welcome all, and the money would help the town. The general store owner is an ex- vmx racer, and does a lot of Enduro tours in the otways. Paul would welcome the idea. The Vinduro Club should look at it or the Classic Scramble club should hold a vinduro down there, all bikes will need to have club rego.

There are lots of state forests we can use for Red Plate rides but we need local knowledge complete with time and manpower to set out a course.
It’s private land of a decent size that we really need so we can accommodate unregistered bikes.

Tallarook Vinduro - 50 acres gives limited course (but still a good ride)
Harrow - 1500 acres makes a long adventurous course.

I have been in contact with the Gellibrand genernal store owner Paul Kosak, Paul is keen to look into helping with a course, he knows the area very well too, I have also spoken to Peter Drakeford about it too, and he is also keen to have a look as well toward the end of the year around November. Paul is happy to take a handful of fellow vintage riders for a look to see where the course would go., just need to cross a couple of obstacle first. ( ITs in the wind at the moment)

It may be a good idea for you rookie and others in the Veri Club to get to know Paul, Paul was the president of the Warrambool motorcycle club many years ago when the vintage motocross started. So I feel that he is a good man to have on board.

Hold onto ya hat, it will be hairy ;) Its wicked country and some Farking massive hills, ravines, gullies, pine forests and beautiful open fire trails darting into sandy sections that go for K/m!! I love it! Im my bias opinion, its the best riding in the state!

Take the modern for a start, and ask Paul to take you to C$#t Hole Track (His Trials course) NASTY!

Grab Dewy, he knows it really well!!

You will just have to pry him away from the Barwon Downs to Wye River run ;) Its a mint course also! Not for Vinduro though ;D

Take the modern for a start,

Vinduro's are for pre-85 bikes and courses are laid out with that in mind.

Cheers,
Chris.

Chris,

I think you have taken my comments out of context, so let me explain them to you in, lets say "SIMPLER"  terms, or read the comments prior!!!

Were engaging the local general store owner "Paul" are you following?? to take the guys on a guided tour of the area that would be suitable for VINDURO, Are you still with me???? I would hate to loose you??? and then they can go have some fun in the more technical stuff the area has to offer, ON THEIR MODERN BIKES. Are we on the same page Compadre???
