I was in the mower industry 15 years ago, the locally produced Rover Rancher, Greenfield & Cox were always good.
Of course Honda, Kubota and Cub Cadet were the best but more expensive.  Stay away from the cheap US imports, they are rubbish. EG  MTD, White, Yardman, Husqvarna and some of the low end John deer.  You will know when you look at them, they all look the same with a different paint job.

3 acre Grasstrack & 2 acre Speedway track :P
Talk to Slakewell Jim, you need both of those plus a slasher for the tractor.

Husky is another cheap low end product. For the area you have you need as sliderulz said a tractor with a slasher for the bulk of it and a ride on for the smaller areas. You really need to look at a secondhand larger Kubota or even a Toro.  Something like the G1800 oldfart has would be good.
To mow the whole lot with a ride on it would take you forever plus a ride on wont cope with long grass, it will break belts constantly.

Jim,
I've got a Cox 11 1/2 hp and it's good for about 1/2 an acre. You can't let the grass get to long/thick. For a couple of acres I would go for  the 18 hp wide cut at
the very least. My neighbour has just upgraded from an 18 hp tractor type to a John Deere turn on the spot type and loves it! Says he would never go back to a tractor type mower.
regards  Mark

And when you get it all mowed right, Mark will bring the Hagon up to do the edges, only the outer edges of course. ;D
Jim, I've got a contact at the John Deere dealer in Silverwater, when you know what your after let me know.
How's it all going Mark?

NEW
 3 ACERS GRASS
 2 ACERS BIKE TRACK

She will grow tired of the mowing thing very quickly. Trust me been there.

Mowing isn't fun. For that mount of grass you will be hard pressed to get anything under 5K that will do the job

Big zero turn mowers are fine for mowing large areas with heaps of trees but completely useless for anything else? The absolute ducks nuts for that size property is a John Deere X595. Mid deck 4WD. 24hp 3 cyl diesel.200 hr service intervals. You can fit a slasher out back and a bucket on the front .You can tow a full size trailer full of firewood with it. I paid $15,500 for it new 8 yrs ago and just sold it a couple of months ago for $ 10,000. So if you look at it that way you can own the absolute best thing for the job and do it so easy for approx $5,000.
