that'd have to be one of the coolest old photo's i've ever seen Bill
i'd love to have one like that of me in my younger years.
so back to the RT2 kicking back story,
it was only a matter of time before someone was to say it so i may as well be the first,
CDI, CDI, CDI...
find one that fits and fit it!
these things are the kickback king with only the origional piston port RT1 being worse,
if thats possible.
a lot of people mount thier kick lever way forward so it clears the leg as they do have a rather unusual bend to them, but having had mine kick back one time when i had my kick lever in the forward position, well, lets just say never again as it'll throw the leg into the handlebars even more so.
my kick lever is mounted more rearward, it makes starting a bit more finicky but i reckon my legs worth it.
complete stator CDI from the DT400 or some IT models should bolt straight on.
mine runs a YZ490 set~up that needed a bit of work in the lathe to make it fit snuggly.
i'm sure other will also vouch for the validity of the cdi on these beasts
