and How did you go with the CVan trip? your offer of transporting it to Queensy was tempting, but I just had too much going on.

Wow some do jog the memory. I remember riding my YZ125F for a sport class at Wodonga Tech .. what a fantastic idea that was. I can't remember who the teacher was though (are you saying it was Knobby Harding?) but I recall riding at a property known as Carolls I think ... way down on the river.
I also recall the Rec Track on what used to be called Pearce St .. it was dusty little place from memory.
I rode the Lawrence Street track many many times particularly after moving to 8 Stevenson Street which was 50 metres from the track. It was my favourite haunt. Had my very first car roll over at Lawrence Street .. a 56 small window VW Beetle …. Probably worth a bit these days
. We used to also ride all over Hunchback , out to Barny and Stanley. And in the other direction, out to the old Wodonga Stock Route as well. Was chased many a time by the local constabulary .. they could never catch me when I was on my CR, YZ or RM but if I was tooling around on one of the many SL/XL125's that seemed to be around in the day, I sometimes did get caught.
I raced/rode my ex Steve Whitehouse YZ125F but got rid of it after 6 months and moved onto an RM125N and man it flew. And handling was superb in comparison with the YZ.
I finished year 12 in 1980 but I think your younger brother Chris would know my younger brother Roger as he was in the same classes as him apparently
I don’t recall your race bikes but a mate of mine had a RM400C2 which was a pretty special piece of kit but I think there were a couple of them around. Did you know a rider by the name of (stretching the memory here) Wayne Schultz … from out Lavington way .. might have been Ettamogah. I thought Wayne had an RM125C2 and RM250C2 as well .. but he wasn’t from Wodonga so that would still leave you with the only one.
The caravan trip went okay, could have been better but we got home safe and sound with the caravan in relatively one piece, thanks for asking. Would have been great to catch up and maybe we still can if you are going to CD9? Or when I’m back down that way some other time?
Anyway, thanks again for the memories Nobby, they really are an unexpected bonus of being a member of Ozvmx
