The tip about running the RM250CDI on the 125 was actually done to Team Suzuki bikes-which were at the time being set up by Frank Pons,who told me this bit of info-thats all I know-and he said they did it to get them to rev higher/harder.

Well that would only be for VERY short periods ie supercross ans some mx tracks.Any track that was fast and open a 125 would deto it's self to pieces.

TMBill mentioned this swap once before also butthat was TM250 to TM125..same thing kinda I guess  :-\

What's the bore & stroke of the TM 125 & the RMS 125?

What's the bore & stroke of the TM 125 & the RMS 125?
Are they the same?

56mm bore x 50mm stroke for both

You will have to excuse my ignorance C/god but the Deto problem you refer to-could that be offset by increasing the comp.say 10thou off the head and running good fuel .eg, Avgas or Meth?
