After 2011 the rain yesterday Firko was not even an issue  ;) from a riders point of view. The track was hardwork on the Pre75 but a bloody great event.

Stack (track maintenance guy and VMX rider) worried about the track (you could see it on his face all weekend), he can rest easy as I didn't hear a bad thing about it the whole day and it was challenging, safe and interesting, fantastic Job.

The Spannish brands had a good day in Pre75 oldies Bully 1st Monty 2nd  :'( the better rider won  :). There was more than a little help in that regard when Jen's front wheel on his TM/S400 gave up the battle in race 2 it probably didn't help that he was trying to clear the big step up double jump at the back of the circuit  :o.

How good is Jens Olsen  ;D. He'd have to be pushing 70 and his old TS400 isn't the trickest bike on the planet but he's lost none of his speed or agression. While fighting for second place in the first moto Inverells Peter Horwood found out the hard way when he made the rookie mistake of trying to pass Jens on the outside on a tight corner. Not many have survived that particular manouvre over the years and predictably Jen's rear wheel found Peters front wheel (accidentally of course ::) ), the result being a slow motion face plant for the young Kato rider. The old Norwegian is an absolute gentleman off the bike but as tough as they come on the track.

Jens said he will be turning 65 shortly.

And you got it right Firko. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer bloke than Jens.

Cheers

Yeah Jensy is a wild man at times (most times actually!). At the start of heat 1 he pinned the throttle on the RH and she went hard left in front of me, then quick right to settle two others down - would've holeshotted Brad if he could've kept it all straight! After the Horwood get together he shot across the track nearly under my front wheel then back again after I'd passed to get Turtle. Imagine how quick he'd go if he rode in a straight line around the track. It was exciting!
Great work put into this event by Mick Connolly, Greg Pickering, Stack and Todd at Moto Central, Shaun G & the Rindlisbackers, Greg Holmes, & sponsor Maitland Mazda
Everything ran smoothly and the temperature was just right for good racing.

Yes and also thanks to Team Bevo, Bob and Mike who pitched in and ran the start line. I tried to bribe them to work to a count down but they wouldn't be in it ;D

Any time Grant. It would be a pleasure to catch up. You never know, I just might make it down your way for a race day next year.
