Was it?  Who mentioned race ready?  Is this "Original" one race ready then?  Are we comparing apples with apples here or are we mixing up our fruit?  I checked the ad again and I can't see where it says it's race ready?  In fact it says quite the opposite to me (eg been sitting in the shed for 10 years).

I haven't.  Either they are race ready or not ... and it's not hard to tell the difference if you check them out.  Sure I've spent money getting a bike onto the track but I've always known that before I purchased it and the price would have been set accordingly.

A lotto draw??  Without doubt an original bike is better than a flogged dead horse, no arguament from me on that score,  but surely you would agree that a bike that has been sitting in a shed for 10 years, according to the ad, would require significant expenditure to get it race ready?  I have built one of these Elsinores before (and many other race bikes as well) so I know what it takes to get one race ready. Not sure about anyone else but I could easily see myself spending between $1 - $2K on this "original" gem to make it race ready resulting in a $4 - $5k bike based on the high price it sold for.

Thats a lot for a CR125M3 in today's economy ...  in my humble opinion of course  ;D

With a high bidder with a feedback score of 2 I won't be surprised when this bike gets re-listed.

In case it is legit though I do have two of these bikes in about the same condition. I may be prepared to let one go now the market has shown their true value ;)

Cheers
Shaun

as much as i like Honda's , the M3 model are the least desirable on my list. the Suzuki was hands down the best jap bike of that era in looks and performance.
I reckon Honda dropped the ball after the M models until the 78 models hit the deck.

Hoony i tend to agree and rode RM125's in '76 & '77 but in the US the Honda was very popular with all the trick aftermarket goodies available and privateers like Steve Wise rode very trick CR125's in '76/'77 and stuck it to the Factory bikes week in and week out.
