Can somone tell me if the ignition systems on the PE 250 / 400 T and X models are interchangable ?

TIMING
PE250N  18.0 BTDC @ 6000 rpm
PE250T  13.5 BTDC @ 6000 rpm
PE400T  17.0 BTDC @ 6000 rpm

They often spit the cdi's mine did one not long to long ago kept spitting plugs and changed a cdi spot on no trouble since. ::)

I have had 4 faulty I know how to check them to maybe I have just been unlucky. ???

Until this, I have only ever heard of one being confirmed faulty.
Something in the air out there?

Don't know they are a sealed unit shouldn't be affected by any climate etc.

I suppose they are more than 30 years old now so if your still running the original it has done a fair job I had to send one I had spare to a mate as he had a faulty one.

Not so uncommon by the sounds of things. I had one spite me on a PE250Z. 8)
