Good luck Firko!

As a wise man once said to me prior to my first op; "leave your pride at the door, and pick it back up when you leave". Its a core principle I continue to follow when I have to go under the knife.

I expect to see the "bionic man" of Klub Kevlar back, bigger and faster in 2013. Yes we can rebuild him, etc...!  :)

When a nurse comes asking for a sample, tell her she'll have to syphon it out, unless she's a he of course.
Good luck & happy birthday.

Or the conversation I had with my surgeon: "it is a dangerous operation?" "Not for me" he replied...  ???

Firko, make sure they write "THIS ONE" in black texta on the right [correct] ankle, and double check again before any cutting takes place. Always good to be sure...  :D

Best of luck Uncle Firko.

PS. watch out for the cold spoon during the sponge bath...especially if it is a male nurse   ;D

I'll be back in hospital for my trick new titanium knee so this year's the big sacrifice on getting everything fixed up so I can start to enjoy the sport again.

Mark,
I thought you were anti Billet, Titanium, Bling in VMX!!!! Now you are turning into a RH/RN race machine!! Seriously all the best, I know what it is like to live with constant debilertating pain and suffering. I am married with 3 daughters and even our cat was a female. All the very best, get well and get racing.

Thanks Rossco and everyone....I spoke to the physio this morning and once the plaster's off I'll be spending a lot of time in the pool walking laps in the therapy pool and swimming laps in the big pool. Ironically it was while riding my mountain bike to the local pool that my knee chucked it in. I've also been told to do some upper body weight work while I'm waiting for the plaster to come off which might at least get me a bit stronger. I've pulled my old weight bench out from under the house and set it up this arvo.............

It's going to be a long hard year, but it'll well worth it.
