This is a Husky build I completed earlier this year. When I purchased it about 12 months ago it was as you can see in the first photo a very ugly duckling and I think destined for land fill. After about 3 or 4 months and a lot of searching for parts it ended up owing me around $1600 and has turned into a handy bike and not so hard on the eye.

Frame powder coated.

Back to a roller, wheels rebuilt and polished.

Motor finished, painted and back in the bike.

Tank repainted and looking good.

The finished bike.

Have started on another Husky rebuild, this time a 1983 250CR will take some photos as I go and post in the new year.

, great job, curious, as I am not husky savy, how are the chrome tank sections done?

Nobby The tanks are chome plated all over but only polished around the knee rub section. When I paint a tank this section is masked and I use an etch primer to make sure I get a good key for the paint on the unpolished chrome.

Yeah thats really good considering what you started with.... I am doing 73 WR at the moment, funny they are pretty easy bikes to get bits for as surprised how much is still available.

Nice job Fat-toy......I love it when someone starts with an absolute dunger and ends up with such a nice finished product. It's ironic that after nearly 24 years of pre '75 class vintage motocross being a part of the Aussie off-road scene, bikes from that era are still reappearing out of barns and sheds and being readied for a new race life. The words, "There are hardly any decent (unrestored) pre 75 bikes left" uttered on these very pages a few years ago, still brings a smile

The bike looks good. Fat-toy. I never think to take photo's of my bikes before I start work on them.Just a question who did the chrome on the fuel tank for you?? Darcy

Darcy the chrome on this tank was in pretty good condition so it only needed to be resprayed.

Nice job Zane,great too see one saved rather than go to the tip,i am currently doing up a YZ80H,it needs the forks rechromed before it becomes a roller but almost everything else is ready(engine,shock,swingarm etc) ,its just a few more bit's and pieces and it's there.
