love the top one Firko one of my all time favorites....... I did my Cheney pretty close to those colors/ we used the colors off the side cover

I tossed up as to whether I should re-anodize my tank the original red but decided that because it'd flawlessly been repaired by GMC I was told by a number of different people, including my usual anodizer that the different alloy content of the weld material could cause the anodizing to show up a slightly different colour where it had been repaired. I went for the polished look instead.

Because the tank is as rare as shite I couldn't stand it being damaged so for racing I'm going to use a fibreglass BSA B44GP replica tank (currently being lined and methanol proofed by Matcho Mick Jones) which I've decided to paint candy apple red to match as close as possible the original anodized red.

I prefer my seat over that on the red Triumph. It's a bit like me....too fat ;D.

If you're running methanol, you should really go alloy.

No freaking chance of getting color matched anodizing in Unzud .... you can get a list of excuses as to why it F^%ked up as long as your arm. We went 2 pack, Mike sprayed it up mint , it is a Peugeot color

It's tempting, the prices are pretty reasonable as well. I actually made a typo when I wrote methanol.
I mean't ethanol so the fibreglass will do....If it gets trashed I won't dive into tears of anguish.

Still, Ethanol eats away at the glass and turns it into syrup. Blocks yer carby and generally feks things up. Dig deep ya tight bugger  ;D

With the various 2 pack paints being tough as shit there is probably no good reason to anodise except originality. It was one of Eric's quirks which is kind of nice to replicate. I am using B50 tank so it is not crazy original.

Keen to get this motor finished and in the Cheney, it has PES clutch and gearbox mainshaft and B50 liner and 10:1 piston. Just chasing Carillo rod and will do crank rebuild.

That's why I'm getting Matcho Mick to treat three 'glass tanks with that coating shit (Kreem or whatever he uses) for me Cranky. ;)
I'd have done it myself but after Jonesy's disaster with his little Honda Metisse where the coating didn't......errr,coat properly and the methanol ate through the glass and his hi-zoot candy purple paint, I figured I'd get a professional 'glass man to do it. As far as using another alloy tank, I've got a B44GP tank which looks OK on the bike, if a tad short. I do like Terry Weedy's work though, so who knows what might evolve in the new year. 8)
