Most definitely a yes for the flatslide on a 370 in evo and no, the 370 in evo isn't an issue ;)

I don't think you can run a flatslide Mikuni in Evo, they are a later era carby. If you run a flatslide it has to be an EI or a Lectron.

18.6.0.4 Carburettors:
a) Any round-slide carburettor of a type
available pr e-1975 may be used
except the Pre-1960 class where a Mk1
Amal Concentric or period carburettor
may be used.
b) Flat-slide carburettors are prohibited on
all machines except EVO and Pre 85,
c) No reed-valves permitted on machines
up to and including Pre-1970 class

John ,the rules don't actually state which type. I can understand where you are coming from but as Taka says, it needs clarification :-\

Hi Doc and welcome back..
I'm sure the rules used to state no flatslides other than period ones (EI, Lectron etc) in Evo but that latest ruling now leaves it wide open...

seems a little strange when the vmx revolution or evolution started that some people had trouble sourcing parts and had to run what they could within reason not all can buy period correct new  stuff it seems this has gone like the real estate market, through the roof for no sane reason just playing into the hands of some.

No real conspiracies going on, the rules are simply meant to reflect what was available at the time.
Yes, this shifting of goal posts confuses everyone.

I would have thought you would be better setting this model up for Pre 78 as it would be more comfortable there.
