the 77 250 yz will also fit so will the 77 ITs 250/400 ,a couple more chances .
Yamaha tragic ; dt1, rt1, dt2, rt2, dt2mx , rt2mx , mx250, mx360,sc500, 74dt125, yzx125, yzc250, yzc400, yzd250, yzd400, yzh250, yzh80 , dt100 , xr75 ko xr80 03 , it175 82 . Not a member of any club

Cheers Iainyz, I allready have a 250 on the bike , but the 250 has a smaller outlet for the boot to the carby, so to go really fast i will need the 400 box ;D

I don't know about that Trev .. I reckon your stubby holder "spacer" you currently use is working fine mate  :D

it hurts when I'm going supersonic and still getting passsed and lapped, I need more air, which in turn produces more speed! stubby holders are good, but not what I'm looking for.

Worms

The 250/400 D and 400E airbox are all the same. The 250E and the F models have the larger out let on the box. Not sure if a 250E air box will fit D models because of the aluminum spine brace in the D frame, the 250E does not have this (the hole through the middle is the small size only on the D's). The air box is thicker in width and the air filter is wider on the 250E by about 2cm. I don't believe there is that big an advantage by using the later air box.

If your after supersonic speed than look for a pipe and bigger gonads.
