It is nothing special. A standard metric thread. Just take it to a Nuts & Bolts joint they have one.

Unless it for authenticity.

Cheers for that although it appears that i don't have f forks.Apparently the 250f fork base was threaded for the axel hence why I can't get a nut for it.
My forks have 4 bolts on the axel clamp side and are 38mm. Any Ideas?
P.S. Want a NOS axel for a 250f?

sounds like you have later model forks, possibly 83 125. F forks should have one pinch bolt .

I thought the 250F had two M8 pinch bolts?

Could also be YZ125H/J, or various ITs.

YZ250F has only 1 pinch bolt. G has 2, H has 2 but are 43mm.

They sound like IT175J/K (82,83), IT200L (84) or IT250/465H/J (81,82) forks. Almost bet the farm.

As Nathan said they may be off a YZ125H/J but look at the bottom tripple clamp it has a recess for the radiaror water in/outlet.

IT200s were 43mm, FWIW.

YZ125 K is also 38mm with no triple clamp water outlet.Anyway he might have the original 38mm triple and later forks.

He has the right triples, it's just the forks that are wrong. Are all the possible forks mentioned in the same ballpark in terms of length? I know some of the later ones don't stick up through the top clamp like the original 250f forks do

125 K forks dont stick up above the clamps but have 12" travel so about 1.3" longer than stock.
38mm E forks have shorter stauchions than the F so they dont stick up so much , abit less travel also but that can easy be changed to match F specs.

Yeah, they're all the super long type - maybe not the YZ125K - and there's probably some variation between them.
The IT175J/K forks have about 275mm of travel. Pretty sure the YZs had the full 300mm. Dunno about the IT250/465s.

Eh, MM made most of this redundant while I was typing.
