Of course -  it must be the Alzheimer - I starred in the Sidecar Boys as well.

(Well actually, I was in the background for 3 seconds  ::) - I haven't had my mandatory full 15minutes yet. I'll probably have to specify my funeral procession to cross the Harbour Bridge in peak hour to complete my quota. :-[)

In deed it was Sidecar Racer Mick...

Must be early onset Alzheimer's ::).

I was at Amaroo for that sidecar scene. What was suppose to happen was the camera would pan from an MX race to an altercation on the side of the track between Ben Murphy and one of the other characters. I was one of the MX'ers in the background racing scene.

The only problem was that Ben Murphy couldn't remember or string together more then two words at a time . So we did the shot time and time  again. We had a great old time and had bit of an insight into the film industry. (The stars are not as clever, smart, sophisticated or as debonaire as they would like you to think. They need a good script writer to look smart and make up, a good camera angle and multiple takes to look debonaire ;) :P).

The sidecars were props for the scene with the sidecar boys lounging around the sidecars watching the two characters punch it out. Ron was undoubtedly one of those 'lounging'.

Synopsis of Sidecar Racers

In this lively sports drama, Jeff Rayburn has no direction in his life since he competed in the Olympic games as a swimmer. The American had been simply bumming around Australia until he teamed up with biker Dave Ferguson and began sidecar racing. When not involved in racing, the two tussle for the love of the wealthy heiress Lynn Carson. While Ferguson is a nice fellow, he is notorious for taking risks that endanger the lives of his partners. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

That'd be the one Micks, I stand corrected.
Ron Hurdis was one of the gun's around that time and I do remember the wooden acting.

mx 250/slides i was told it was going to be called the sidecars boys but they went with sidecar racers. so it may not been the oldtimers. ron had that print and another one like it framed and hanging in his back room.
