Hi Steve,we were at Stockton when Chris Carr was testing the prototype Golden Tyres, he gave a set to Jim Monagan who tested them on his XL350 based bike and he said they were good. Chris is big on the tyre testing and came out of retirement to race with them, I'm sure his final version would be good, if you buy a set buy the narrow one in the softest compound as the harder ones are designed to run on big bikes, on big tracks and long races ie 25 laps. That is Jim (on the test GT's)chasing Davy Durell (Maxxis distributer).

If at first you don't succeed, lower your standards.

It's got me buggered why you would want to run a 22'' rear Jimmy....it's more trouble than its worth.

That's what's on the Antig, Firko, 22 inch tyres are available from Heffernan's Motorsport and I guess a tyre is still cheaper than a new rim and respoke, which I know Jim can do, plus a new tyre

Hi Steve, have been running whatever on the bike but this year as it is my bike I have Justin Burdus making a letter A in the flag thing, looks great and feeling comfortable enough with the scene over there to get away with it (until Grasy arrives to ride the Kansas series on his Champion XL, he will give it to me). 58 is Davy Durelle, I got beat by his missus in the Open Ameteur last year. If I was as fast as him I would stay there, he won over $10,000 USD at Kansas last year over the 4 days. Over there that is a lot of money.

Have been busy at home with XL500 development, here a pic of the 44mm Mikuni on its inlet port, surprisingly it idles nicely with a huge top-end rush, too much too quick. I have a 38 to take for the smaller tracks.

Development of the 500 here came to a stop with the clutch exploding, apparently common when you get a bit of power out of them.

Reminds me of the old B33 Beeza clutch prob. We used to weld a steel band 'round 'em.
