TC / TE 510
« on: February 21, 2011, 08:11:55 pm »
Hi all, who is knowledgeable about the air cooled 4 strokes? I have a 1984 TE510 and there doesn't seem to be much info on the net. Are they reliable? Parts availability? This is my first Euro bike.
Thanks, Grahame

Yep, do you know anything about it? I rode an 83 TC when it was new. My bike then was a YZ125K and I found the Husky pretty awesome. I haven't seen one in the flesh since.

I will tell you what I know Grahame.

1) I wish it was me instead of you.

2) Fernando Franco, from Husky Parts Australia knows more about this model than you will probably ever need to Know.

Good luck mate ;)

Thanks Mick, I am very excited about it. I now have an Evo bike if I'm man enough to ride it well.

Mick, I live in Victoria and my plan is to Vinduro it a bit first and then see if the bike and me are up to a bit of motocross.
VMX, I did see that post but I couldn't bring up the photos to see what people were talking about. I guess it was the blue and yellow TC I did see for sale about 2 years ago? Did it sell? Is anyone campaigning one of these at the moment?
Cheers, Grahame

There's one being raced in the VCM series in Vic, or at least there was last season, should be back this year. A "real" 4T MXer, much better than one of those HL monstrosities. The toxic avenger is better looking than an HL.

What the hell are you smoking put there in Bendigo ... just because you do not have the good taste to own an HL

Speaking of eye protection I have a 79 Husky frame that has a date with the grinder and an SR500 motor or XR500, which one would you use bigK.

I wonder what Bengt Aberg would think of the bike pictured above bearing his name ? Somehow, It is a bit different looking to the one(s) he rode back in the day. With all that chrome and bling , the only thing missing is the tassles hanging from the end of the handgrips ( and maybe from the holes in the fork leg bracket where the disc caliper used to mount  ;)). I think that Bengt may have an interest in VMX too, by the way (this isn't his bike, but I think he was a spectator at a VMX event in Sweden and posed for the owner of the Can Am) .
