"t is a 450 bored and stroked ( 90 X 78 )taken out to 496 cc .i put a springer head on with reangled oversize valves
74 degrees combined valve angle and 44 mm and 38 mm valves
i had new inputshafts made up that wont break and put on straight cut primary gears with a differend ratio
to speed up the gearbox so there is less load on the gears
i made the rear swing arm 2 inches longer and i put Scrambler bottom sliders on the front fork and laced
a Grimeca 180 mm 4 shoe brake to the 21 inch rim

put in a alternator instead of the flywheel magneto ignition and converted to 12 volts
electronic ignition is Boyer and no battery is fitted but a Boyer Powerbox to rectify and store some energie"

Wow! Nice and dedicated work.

It think Firko just got a new Best Friend and his deck chairs just got rearranged ;D.

Hi Eldert
Welcome to the forum.....a fine machine and project you have there,...also i am very interested if your next project =the motorcrosser  is or will be engineered to run on methanol or pump fuel...its interesting to see which way you go with that particular bike  good luck

A recent change in direction might just see a Triumph 500 engine replace the 250 Ducati in the Hindall...a real rearrangement of the deck chairs ;D. It's not a definite as it all depends on what condition I find the Trumpy in once I pull it down.
Welcome Eldert, your Ducati projects are pretty interesting...keep us up to date on your progress.
ps...I bet the exhaust on your RT450 sounds pretty distinctive ;D.

in 1971 the ISDT was held on the Isle of Man . the Italian team rode on 350 and 450 Ducati RTs that year
the exhaust that i fitted on my bike  was fitted to the teams bikes to

nice Hindall . i have a picture of that frame on my hard drive . it was offered to us before it went to E Bay
