I understand a little bit of frog. What we have is 4 montessa, bikes up for grabs. Two 360 VB 1978, one 250 VR 1974 , and one 250 VE 1979.  The price in Aussie dollar is just a bee,s dick under $10,000.    It helps if you have a relative living in France, which is how I got my Frontera mk11 last year.

(+ important batch trés of piéces including/understanding various limp of speed, wheels, fouches, frameworks, casings, clutch, etc.... possibility of reassembling several motor bikes has to remove on the spot not delivery, to envisage a van of the sprinter type at least I reserve myself the right to remove the advertisement has all moments, because put on sale on other supports) according to Babel Fish.

Graet Translation hey! More like garbled Fish - a French fish talking to an English fish :D. Even with my non-existent knowledge of French I could deduce that much. ;)

Even at $10,000 it would be a good catch for a dedciated Monty fan. Series production restoration ;D.

I'm surprise the seller doesn't sell them individually.

Thanks Paul. It all looks interesting. A real Alladens cave. But as the man said, a touch under 10g plus the freight plus the hassle. Nah. The 250 VE would certainly be a catch but I'm afraid I'm suffering from resto overload these days.
I do know of a VF250 (79/80) in very good condition in Vic that the man would probably let go for about $3500.00 (maybe a little less). I spend many a sleepless night thinking about ringing him for it however the thought of losing a major part of my anatomy in purchasing it is putting me off.
Someone else please buy it and remove my temptation!
Don't try and screw the guy for it though as he's a nice chap and really wants it to go to a good home...

I've got a soft spot for Montesas. Although I've never raced or restored one, I did once fit an XL 350 engine to a basket case King Scorpion and stuck a VR tank on it and told everyone I chopped up a VR to build the bike. It really riled the Monty Anals.
My favourite Montys are:::
The gorgeous Orange tanked '68/69 250 and 360 Cappras not only stand out in a crowd, they a pretty good thing in pre '70 class.

The '74 VR Cappras have the prettiest tank in the vintage era. They are as good as any 250 in the pre 75 class.

Rare as Rocking Horse Shit, the 175 and even rarer 250 Diablos put Montesa on the map in 1964

The 1966/67 La Cross was also rare but they sold a shitload in the US. A great desert bike.

Montesa didn't always get it right. This is the slow and ugly 1971 125 Cappra. What were they thinking with that "grey primer" colour scheme?

Nah. I wish. That belongs to a gent in Europe and I'm pretty sure it's a garage queen. I'm trying to get hold of a VG that came to Oz (only about five I'm told) and they're apparantly in the Warnambool area. I found the one down Gippsland way but it's a VF (same as mine) and I think the bloke's going to hold onto it as he's an idea that they'll be a collectors item in few years.
Mine are all "working" bikes however if I did that VG, it'd be going in the pool room..... :P

As far as rare and valuable, some not the best for riding or racing, the following:

1. Cappra 250 (33M)  very rare, very collectable $4G plus for just a roller.
2. Cappra 360 GP (46M)  Spaniards are snapping these up big time!
3. Cappra 250GP  (53M) four speed orange tank model
4. Cappra 250 VR (73M) the early model, straight fin motor, different tank etc.
5. Cappra 360 VA (66M) early version, with crank mounted clutch.
6. Cappra 250 MX (63M) grey tank model, early version, white frame.
7. Cappra 414 VG  (66M) last of the big bore mxers
8. Cappra 250 VG  (73M) last of the 250 mxers.
9. Impala Cross 175 (13M) 75 units produced!
10. Cappra 414 VE/VF (66M)

I didn't think it was that bad Firko, have ya seen some of the CZ and Maico of the period. Now that's fugly ;)

Here's a restored 'Grey Ghost' . Amazing what a bit of spit and polish, some subtle lighting and decent photography can do. ;D

.....and a works bike of the period.
