I grew up listening to mainly home grown stuff that I saw in the local pub's like The Oils, Chisel, Angels, Radiators, Mentals & Oz Crawl.
As for O.S. stuff, Dire Straits, 10cc, The Stranglers & The Strolling Bones of course.
As for the pub scene today, dead.

Saw a White Stripes doco the other night.
Jack White appears to be completely insane.
Sure can play and write tho. :)

Its been 20 odd years sice we have been to a band only event  :-X and what a night with an awesome venue, sweeping lawns and vines (we all planned a dream vmx track of course  ;) ), fantastic bands (Joe was as usual at his best-still got the sting, though I really missed Linda and Vicki),great company, fantastic systems in place to keep the people moving(bar etc),posh pit was packed with the right age group, bus to and from your door  :P  Worth every cent.  8)

Going to see Joe Cocker and George Thoroughgood on Tues nite at the Palais in Melbourne. Front row seats apparently (god knows how my mate got them!) got to be happy about that!!!! Counter attack before we go in so we can have one scotch one bourbon and one beer to get nicely primed. Maybe Julia could have subsidised the whole thing so that everybody under the age of thirty could have been exposed to real talent. Cheers Jerry

Cop an earful of the foo fighters. Just good old fashioned rock. And a drummer who'll put Michael Shreive to shame.

Mike52 if you like Stevie Ray you might like his brother Jimmy in The Fabulous Thunderbirds. He played at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) last year. Cheers Jerry
