Just sending our thoughts and well wishes and hoping that Doc, Brad and Wayne ore all ok with the flooding in Brisbane. Thoughts and prayer to the families in Toowoomba who have lost family and belongings. Does anyone know if Steve and Allison are anywhere near the fires in WA? Hope they are ok.

Thanks Ray. My family is all good thanks, even though we live on a flat property, no flooding. I just need to get out and earn some money!
I spoke to Dodgee yesterday and his pool is full of mud and his garage was flooded.
Good to here you come out okay.

Yeah Stewie,
I think with another 238mm of rain falling in the last 24 hours just upstream of Green Park at Elaman Creek, the bridge is probably happily on its way to Gympie.  For those that don't know, Elaman Ck is the headwaters of the Mary River (which is already in full flood) and eventually feeds Gympie and Maryborough.  I think we'll be searching for that bridge for a while, unless it gets hung up on something.  

AND IT'S STLL RAINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is fuc*ing awful. I've got rellys in Toowoomba who are on high ground and missed the wall of water but they have friends and inlaws who live in Gatton who aren't returning calls. The panic in my cousins voice this morning was a bit alarming. I've had emails from my mate Mike in California and from Mark (Weekend Warrior) Thompson in Cincinatti checking to see If I was OK (they're a bit clueless on Oz geography ::)) and they both reckon the Queensland floods were the lead item on most of the TV news services and have been for days.

We've gone from 10 years of drought to this in a blink, Australia sure is a unique country. Good luck to those of you who will be effected by this as it moves towards Brisbane and Northern NSW.

The EXPERTS on the news said that a 1974 could NEVER happen again in Bris.
That Wivenhoe Dam has saved Bris. ???
Is it just me or am I just getting old  (and grumpy).
Both Wivenhoe and Somerset are full so where is the water going to go now?

Another expert said that the silt coming out of the Fitzroy will kill the REEF like it did in 2001. ??? ???
What did it grow back? ( then it will grow back again)
Is it still dead ? ( then it will still be dead after this )
Either way what is the POINT of the statement?

Am I paying these halfwits??

Had a clean up again yesterday arvo,so there arent as many flammable items around the house.
Be prepared they say.
This wind will kill anything if it had a 500+ metre spark front.

Poilce are going door to door in Brisbane ..you have a high tide tomorrow at 2pm and more rain.

How lucky was the bloke holding on to the tree to stop being swept away that was rammed by the floating van? If you haven't seen it, watch for it on the news, he's a lucky fella that the tree was strong enough to resist the weight of the van. A fraction earlier it'd mowed another tree over like it wasn't there.
