I was guessing  the track was where i circled,  :-\

Reckon your right KB doesn't help with the crap resolution though! Geoff may be working on a little something. Dont want to put too much pressure on him but watch this space..... Cheers Jerry

You could be right KB, I was trying to picture it in the first clump of trees.
Almost went past the track today but didn't have time to call past.
Besides I'm afraid of the owners taking pot shots at me :o

I spent the last 2 days lookin for a video I have. Some friends took a lot of 8mm movies in the 70's from many different tracks including the first use of Broadford & also the Channel O circuit, Euroa dirt track, Hattah, Sea Lake & a few other tracks I don't recognise as well as around 3 events at Wallan.
They were professionaly transferred to Video about 20 years ago but it doesn't look so hot now when I review it.
Still it has a lot of intersting footage.
I will try to transfer to Digital over the Xmas break and maybe put some of the better bits on youtube.

I tried to steal a few stills from it straight from the TV.
It worked the other day with the Indiana Jones stuff while freezing a DVD but not so great from a video.

Heres a shot of the start line,
Its realy poor quality but it does show the tower right on the start line.

"Hey Roger
Love that Wallan stuff.   I must have done a thousand laps of that dusty, rutty, root-protruding, off-camber,
topsoil-less, slimy-when-wet shithole.

It was my first comp on a bike. We went there to ride the trails on a CT70 dax and dad entered my brother
on his SL70 and me in a race. We both got thirds and I was hooked.

From that to getting to the first corner in front of Gaston. Great memories.

PS: That 400 Yam with Steve on it No 94 in the photos was my first big bore. We bought it from them after the vic titles."

If we are not on the ball to save barrabool  geelong, it will head in the same direction as wallan, land developers and neigbors will destroy the history of this great track, and it will be just  memeries. Support the fight to save Barrabool.
