Chad Reed to the new Vodaphone Honda?by MX WEEKLY on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 1:45pm
The rumours are coming thick and fast and we broke the story last week on the show regarding Chad Reed, switching to Honda.
Industry sources have confirmed that the Super X and AMA Champ will indeed jump on board "a whole new outfit" for the Newcastle Super X opener the 16th of October.
Last week via his twitter account and via a press release, Chad Reed revealed last week that he will contest the event in what well may become his "come back", after battling the Epstein Barr virus. Insiders who spoke to MX Weekly, spoke of an "soon to be named blue-chip communications company, which we believe to be Vodaphone", which has also been confirmed by sources close to Chad Reed.
“Currently free of any commitment to motorcycle manufacturers, Reed has partnered with a blue-chip global brand to appear at Energy Australia Stadium and will debut his unique race machine in the week leading up to the event,” the press release last week, stated.
Sources who remain "very close" to Chad Reed have speculated that the former champ will indeed be riding a Honda CRF 450 for the event, as negotiations were still being finalised prior to official announcements being made.
Bearing in mind that it was in fact Team Vodaphone that Chad Reed tested a V8 Supercar with, who also just happen to be under the Public relations auspices of Fluid PR.
