.... maybe if he hadn't jumped ship every 5 minutes and stayed longer with teams he might have got up there with the greats....

Talk about cynical.  :o

Like all of us, he is entitled to do what is best for himself and his family. It must drive him [and high profile people like him] nuts to have every part of their life examined and commented upon by people they don't even know.

And then he gets no credit for his achievements, or for having the unmitigated gall to come back home and try to resurrect a stagnant Supercross series with fresh ideas and quality imported riders. I know that if I left home at 18 with a dream, that I turned into a reality, I would hope for a bit of respect…

I suppose Jeremy McGrath is a bit of a 'no hoper' as well, after all he only won a single outdoor title. Didn't he ride for Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki and KTM - where is the loyalty there?  Hold on, that is the same number of Factories that Chad has ridden for…  :o

It's pretty f...ed up how people shoot down Reed so easily.
Up until a few weeks ago he was the current defending AMA 450 outdoor MX Champ but now he's finished apparently.. according to the keyboard experts.
Like him or not you can never write off a champion like Reed.

The only ones whinging are kiwi's anyway. They're just angry people 'cause they can't beat us at just about anything except rugby. And we all know that rugby ain't a real game!

How many times did he win a championship when the guns werent out injured......?... I mean he's still acheived alot but missed alot aswell.....nearly every time he was going to race the MX Des Nations he'd get a sprained heart muscle or something 2 days out from the meet...How can you compare McGrath to Reed...there not in the same boat, Mc was the gun of his time just like Carmicael was in his time....he's just picking up the leftovers!! ;D ;D :D :D.....Hey clogwog, how many MX world champs has Aussie had...not counting the junior.....I'll tell ya...NONE, 0, NILL, ZERO, ZILCH, oh, did I say 0 . ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ah clogwog the truth come out!!!-bumping uglies with a Kiwi,I always knew you had a skeleton in the closet!!
I am assuming its a Kiwi lady, but then again I heard that you seemed to enjoy the CZ lycra jersey a tad too much at CD7

Yes rugby isnt a real game, its only the game that your guys Mungo version (league) was derived from!!!!

Back to the subject,I guess Reedy will have to regain some pride and show us how good he is next season, like BT101 (Townley) did in 2010......

The reason there hasn't been an Aussie World Champion is related to Epstien Barrs syndrome.

A similar disease - but extremely contagious - infected 97% of the Aussie pro motocrossers circa 1975.   Rahier Barrs Syndrome is thought to have been accidentally imported via the Bert Flood dealership.  The first local to go down with it was Victoria's Mike Landman.

Before long it had spread interstate.   Symptoms included drooping elbows and a lethargy that left riders circulating mainly on their seats.   Butt-punished and whoop whipped, they never quite got up to ultimate speed.   1983 Mr MX R VDB is one notable exception who, despite being afflicted, flopped and flapped his way to this country's ultimate victory that year.

Meanwhile, the Belgians stood up ... and took most of the global titles.  Notably, they were short.  Wee guys like Eric Geboers didn't seem to suffer too much from Rahier Barrs as, being short-legged, they had trouble getting their arses off the seats anyway
