this bike did nt last long with new owner .make s you wonder if the problem with the gear box wasnt  woorse than origialy thought .and as explained in original ebay owner sale pitch /but not in this onwers pitch

I've known the seller for a long time. He's notorious for building or buying bikes and quickly selling them using the "I'm broke" catch cry. He was the bloke selling the Monark Jawa replica a few weeks ago. Do your homework and be careful.

i know i watch  ebay like a hawk and i usally ask the owners question about there machines  when this ossa was on last time i was think ing off  tradeding  it for a box off red goodies i had  in the shed so i know a bit about the bike  spoke to the other guy on the phone   but i changed my mind

I take it that the bike has known, but unstated, gearbox probs.

Unless he changed the motor you cant blame this guy if it had a dogegy gearbox before he got it. 

Maybe he simply thinks there is a bit more coin to be had from it.

I am selling the ossa, only because, i have been chasing a yz 250 a and b for a lot of years, i was sponsored on one in 1973, l love the ossa it is a great bike and very light, i have spoken to a chap who owns an ossa, neil daymond ownes an ossa, my friend feels and i feels that there isn`t much wrong with it, the gears shilfs well has good spring tenion, and Alex in Amercia owns ossa and he has all the parts to fix that issue with gear spring selectors, they click up and down very well. but when it is in nutural area, thereis not much tenion, the engine sound very tight, it is a great bike, i would really like someone to own it and race it, we don`t see them around, when i get my yz it will be raced.
if you what it don`t hesitate it is a lovely bike.

Not sure if bike is sold, been re listed at least twice by the same seller, I owned an Ossa Phantom
years ago and they are a real sweet bike but had gearbox problems and alloy
swingarm was weak.

Was this a mid year upgrade?

Actually, I have to get my Phantom together one of these years-my father left it to me when he died in 1992. It's just the roughest lest usuable parts I have ever encountered-but maybe in the next few years I'll have to shell out the $ and get it done. It's just so small and light and fragile-it is nice too look at , but you just know you can't ride it to hard-kind of like Paul's Maico Girls

Don't tease us Firko; that is exceptionally exceptional. There's probably a story behind the story here.

Even the most dumbarse underinformed these days has an awareness of anything old, from a milk churn to an old bike. Indeed, most have an inflated expectation. Mostly if you show the slightest interest or knowledge and the price doubles. Your mate must  blessed with the 'art'.

I know of a Rickman 125 that went for 2 slabs of beer (to be used "by the kids as a paddock basher"  ). I wouldn't take it as typical.

   Yep, I'm still chasing a Phantom but not in any rush and am looking for a good one, or now that it's been mentioned, one of Firko's $100 specials.    Great that you Guys keep digging them up.   I got another one of my wall hangers running over Xmas so now have two out of six that are rideable     .    Bit wary of this Phantom.  Is it for sure the same one that sold for around six Grand some weeks ago ?      Cheers    T250.
