I was looking at the tank and thought it was a bit earlier than that.  So does it have a new home yet????  Is it as good as it looks or need some work?

Jeff, yes I am afraid the Honda now moves to the back of the project list, this sweet little 500 is my new baby.
Its back to my original plan to build a Goof Mr Motocross special,I have the adjustable struts, twin air airbox and tmv sidepanels so it should come up very nice.I will get the NZ guru Mike Felton to assist my efforts, the  bike should hit NZ mid September I will be trying to have her ready for the beginning of 2011.
Ahh gotta love Suzukis!!
CMD get back down your mine shaft boy!

I think of the old air hammer 2 stroke 500s the RM5 had the best power. I agree with the magazine articles of the day that said it was like a grunty 250. Due to them being a 4 speed a lot were 'geared up' like road racers but I think the stock gearing really shows off what a great motor it has.

old riding friend of mine rode a 4 day on one , so Mario they can be used as an enduro bike as well  ::)

Maybe you are right Marc, i had my 175 back then and had a go on a 500 and it was a handful for me.
Then coming back on a 450F after 20 odd years i thought no big deal.
Maybe i might taste a 4-500cc 2 banger again oneday and relive what i thought was holy shit how do they ride these things?
A set of stickers on Suzi43's 500 and it would be a ball tearer looking bike....love the stance of those bikes.

Always fancied one with the PE tank and plastics, PE500E would be pretty cool.

But unless you have Geboers or Lackey as a surname you are probably just as well off on the 250.

Marc - I don't think anyway could disagree with the fact they would be faster on a 250  ;D  but to quote the HSV slogan - "I just want one".

I heard that the Zook had shit suspension, the Yamaha pinged itself to death, Hondas were good but everybody has one - how did the Kwaka compare?

how did the Kwaka compare?

Unless your name (in Australia) was Trevor Williams, they were shite.
- Suspension that went soft in 2 laps.
- A front disc that was beyond the twin leading of the time.
- Cracking frames.
- Reasonable power was a good point.

But they looked different and are way cool in todays world.
