cool i like it....yes i still have very fond memories of that old banger....taught me a thing or two on how to hang on when in doubt...then i siezed the old girl and my uncle took the whole front end and swingarm off it and grafted it onto a 1976 ts400... wow another beast of a bike that i will never forget.....

I'm no PE Suzuki scholar nor am I anal enough to care about graphics on the bloody things but here is a shot of my virgin, unmolested and unrestored PE400X anyway. As you can see, both tank and sideplate graphics are different to both of the above. The bike will be offered for sale in Kamp Kevlar at CD5 for as much money as we can possibly raise as the funds will be going to a benevolent cause.

Nah, the deal fell through. See I told you I wasn't a PE scholar! Of course it's a Z model. Out of curiosity, what kind of money do you Suzuki guys seriously think it's worth? It's in untouched original condition and was previously owned by Geoff Eldridge and is believed to have been a market evaluation and magazine test bike. Geoff got it off Suzuki and it hung on the walls of the ADB office for a number of years until put up for auction after GE's tragic death. We've never done a thing to the bike and it's generally believed it hasn't turned a sod of dirt since 1982. It ticks over like a sewing machine however and everything works including the horn. Some of the plastic is faded from hanging in the sun but the important stuff like the tank is fine.

its a hard question as everyone has their own ideas as to what they are worh. i know people who have payed over $3000 for PE 400's that need engine rebuilds.

trying to get a buyer for it at $3000 may be hard, but really you just have to advertise it to the right market. the avarage MX person may just think its just a plain old suzuki enduro bike and not a RM and they will say its only worth $200. i personally wouldnt bother accepting anything under $1500 for it. it is a 82 model which makes it rare but that doesnt mean people will weant to pay lots for it. ive only ever seen one other 400 Z world wide. it was being wrecked on ebay canada. i bought the forks off it as they are updated internally and different to X models, plus i bought a few other parts off it. i know someone in canada or USA and he has a PE 400 with about 70kms on it and he asked the same question as to how much its worth as he wants to sell it.

if i was looking for another complete bike and could afford one i would happily pay over $2000 for your 400

best chances of getting a good amount is to put it on ebay and have a good reserve price on it. if it doesnt reach the res you dont have to sell it to highest bid.

if you got all the original blinkers, battery, tail light, and other little bits everyone removes this adds to the value

i am yet to find any magazine tests/articles in ADB or T&T on 82 250/400 Z. i dont think there are any.
