Hi VMX247,
Graham is quite reserved being an Englishman, and I am very happy he is allowing me to post these images. This is a great VMX gesture from a good friend. I hope all enjoy the images.
I will ask Graham about the Sprites.
I have all the details about those CCM frames, very interesting, and really cool looking.
Sidecar stuff coming soon.

Freshly restored bikes.

Thanks Graham. Ji
As lovely as these two Cheneys are, they sure as shit aren't "freshly restored". They're brand new replicas fresh out of Simon Cheneys shop. I report this purely in the interests of accuracy of course. ;)

I wonder how much better these bikes are than the originals  ??? With modern shock absorbers , fork internals , ignitions, wide foot pegs , clutch and brake linings , modern 3 speed gearbox and clutch assembly .

Would John Banks have been much much faster on one of these  :)

It's sad what's become of the pre '65 class in the UK. Those particular Cheneys have mid to late seventies Marzocci forks, Grimeca hubs, long Works shocks just using the photo as a guide. None of those components were available pre 1965. The engines are most probably loaded with NEB 3 speed tranny, Weslake speedway crank and ti valves. What you can't see doesn't bother me as much as the obviously visibly wrong era stuff on the outside.

Having slammed them, I could easily bring them back to presentable pre 65 standard by fitting Ceriani or Betor forks, Rickman hubs, correct length shocks and a barrel with all of its original fins. They're nice things and just the sight of them makes me want to get back out the shed to get my own Cheney ready for CD7.

Thanks Jim, it was nice having you over. After you left I rebuilt another pair of Works shocks I had laying about for myself. Now you know how that prick Simon Cheney ripped me off after seeing my side panels!

If you want to win in pre 65 that is pretty much what you need to be on. Are they era correct, hmm if methanol burning reliable, 3 speed B44s churning late 40s hp were available in 1964 I guess so. ;D

Do I want one, yes really really badly, but due to financial constraints I have build it myself.  ::)

No we're not at all anal Alison, we're just a bit more serious about preserving the eras. The American rules are even stricter than ours so we've found a good compromise.
If you weaken to the lobbys like the poms have pretty soon all of the classes will deteriorate to the point pre 75 and pre 68 have in the UK. Just think of the Dutch twinshocks to see the naughty end of the chain.  ;D

I'm out of here.....off to see the Tahs hammer the Hurricanes at the Footy Stadium!

Any idea who sells the lever on the rear brake plate that allows the brake rod to run parallel with the swingarm?
